‘One’ album played as a multi-sensory experience.

Next February, award-winning British artist Wolfgang Buttress is putting together a pair of special performances at the Nottingham Arts Theatre.

The ‘One’ shows (February 18th/19th) will bring to the stage for the first time the soundtrack for Wolfgang’s award-winning British Pavilion from the 2015 Milan Expo. The Pavilion reimagined a beehive as an installation highlighting the plight of the honeybee, focusing on the importance of pollination.

The soundtrack – released as Be ‘One’ on our Rivertones label on February 12th – is a constantly changing and evolving symphony – the sound of a dialogue between bee and human recorded by Kev Bales, Tony Foster (a duo known for working with Spritualized, Julian Cope, Dave Gahan and Mark Lanegan) with help from Jason Pierce, Youth, cellist Deidre Bencsik, vocalist Camille Buttress and the Amiina string section.

The two shows in Nottingham will recreate the immersive ‘One’ album in full 7.2 sound in an installation specifically created for the stage by Wolfgang, Squint Opera and Hoare Lea. They promise to be truly unique – a mixture of art, nature and meditative drone music.
