Jonathan Rendall – The Great Tragedist

Dear Jeff – It was sad news to hear that the author Jonathan Rendall died recently. He wrote three wonderful books. My favourite is his first, This Bloody Mary Is the Last Thing I Own, a memoir about his failed attempts to become a boxing promoter.

Here he is, at his best, reviewing ‘the great tragedist’ Morrissey in his short-lived Observer column, ‘Last Chance Saloon’.
