We are very pleased to announce that we will be heading to the inaugural Aerial Festival in the Lake District this spring.

On Saturday 28th March, join us aboard a classic Lake Windermere steamer for an afternoon of words and music from Helen Mort, Amy Liptrot, Jack Cooper and Roy Wilkinson.

— Helen Mort has published two poetry collections, won the Fenton Aldeburgh Prize, and her novel Black Car Burning, a former Caught by the River Book of the Month, was published in 2019. She is also the author of Lake District Trail Running.

— Amy Liptrot grew up on a sheep farm in Orkney, Scotland. Her bestselling memoir, The Outrun (2016) won the Wainwright Book Prize for nature and travel writing and the PEN Ackerely prize for memoir and has been translated into 14 languages. She currently lives in West Yorkshire and is working on her next book. 

— Since the demise of Jack Cooper’s much loved former band, Ultimate Painting, he’s gone on to create the most ambitious and adventurous music of his career with Modern Nature and their 2019 debut album How To Live – a wild mix of German motorik, English folk and keening spiritual jazz. Here he plays an acoustic solo set.

— Roy Wilkinson’s Do It For Your Mum is a brilliant memoir about family and managing the band British Sea Power, who include his younger brothers Jan and Hamilton. Roy will talk about growing up in the Lakes and the mighty Harry Griffin, who wrote the Lakeland Diary for The Guardian for over 50 years, as well as acting as MC for the slot.
