It’s just under a week until team CBTR take to Flintshire for our last festival engagement of the summer – The Good Life Experience, taking place from 15-17 September on the Gladstone estate. As usual, we’ll be boasting a stage jam-packed with talks, poetry, and music, as well as a bookshop stuffed with both newly released and heavily discounted tomes.

We’ve pulled together a mini round-up of auditory delights which highlight some of what’s to be found on our Good Life stage over the weekend:

– First off, here’s a clip of Polly Atkin reading her poem Roadkill Season – and there’s plenty more where that came from! Explore her full Soundcloud page to hear her reading other examples of her poems. Polly will read, alongside Caught by the River Poets-in-Residence Will Burns and Martha Sprackland, on Saturday morning.

– Next up, wrap your ears around the new single ‘Rumer’ from the legendary Michael Head. He and his Red Elastic Band grace our stage on Saturday afternoon.

– And finally, listen to a sneak preview from The Glass Aisle – a collaboration between poet Paul Henry and Stornoway frontman Brian Briggs – below, in the form of a track called Each Leaf Must Fall. See the whole piece performed on Sunday afternoon.

Our full stage lineup can be found here. Tickets are available here, and Caught by the River readers get 10% off using the code CBTR.
