Earlier this week, we stocked the Caught by the River shop with a run of brand new prints and tote bags.
The design, by illustrator Hugh Cowling, features the spines of 14 books which have been fundamental to Caught by the River over the past 10 years. From our own touchstones to books born of columns on the site, this is the combination of titles that sits on our ideal bookshelf.
Roger Deakin’s Notes From Walnut Tree Farm and Waterlog, Robert Macfarlane, Stanley Donwood and Dan Richards’ Holloway, Chris Yates’ Casting at the Sun, Laura Beatty’s Pollard, Amy Liptrot’s The Outrun, Kathleen Jamie’s Findings, John Hillaby’s Journey through Britain, Alice Oswald’s Dart, The Best of A.Harry Griffin’s Country Diary, John Andrews’ For All Those Left Behind and Matt Sewell’s Our Garden Birds are all included, along with our own publications A Collection of Words on Water and On Nature.
Made from 100% organic cotton, the bag measures 40 x 35 x 12cm, and has internal pockets. You can get one here.
The print, produced by our friend Nick Hand of The Letterpress Collective, measures 60cm x 40cm, and is on recycled Cyclus 170gsm paper. It’s available here.
