Lisa Woollett is a beachcomber, mudlark and collector of found objects. You may already be familiar with her book Sea Journal, published in 2016 and much-loved by us. Her next book Rag and Bone — which traces the story of our rubbish, and, through it, our history of consumption — is published by John Murray in July.

Lisa writes: “Following the launch of Rag and Bone, I would have been at festival and bookshop events this summer, sometimes accompanied by a ‘Travelling Museum of Finds’. Halfway between a print setter’s cabinet and a suitcase, this will [have contained] beachcombing and mudlarking finds collected while writing the book.”

Whilst these in-real-life plans have been put on hold, Lisa has set up an interim virtual version of the Travelling Museum, in the form of a blog — “a show-and-tell of lost and discarded objects” which you can visit here.
