Shot on 16mm B&W film and hand processed in buckets at Analogue Farm. ‘Under Sky, Over Earth’ was shot at specific sites of interest tracing the richly patterned network of history that resonates across the windswept moors of Whitworth across 8,000 years of human presence; featuring a prehistoric burial mound, ancient trackways, Bronze Age standing stone, medieval ruined farms, cairns, enchanted well, shooting huts, and motorcycles, the latter of which now dominates these largely neglected moors. The film also features the rare breed of Fell Brow Ponies that inhabit these moors alongside other nature…

The film accompanies the book Lorelines, a recent publication by Chatton Barker exploring the anthropology, archaeology, legends and lore discovered around the South Pennine Moors. The result is a 200 page in-depth journey through artistic intervention, photography and storytelling.
