We were struck recently by the beauty of ‘The River We Once Knew’ – David Morris’s 1971 series of photographs of the River Hull, which we chanced across on the Open Bridges blog. With permission and for your viewing pleasure:
You can read more about the photos, and how they came to be, here.
The ‘Open Bridges: A River Full Of Stories’ oral history project aims to preserve and publicise the heritage of the River Hull by collecting and recording people’s memories of the river, its bridges, and the vessels which have used it over the years. With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project will result in a film, exhibition, website, and a book which will be given to each library and museum in Hull and the East Riding. Find out more/keep tabs on it here.
