It’s the Sheridan Anderson Memorial Short Story Contest … and if you haven’t heard of the Curtis Creek Manifesto by Sheridan Anderson, it’s something you should look into. Sort of Bernard Venables meets Richard Brautigan and together they do LSD. (image attached)
Anyway, maybe this is worth an entry on the blog? The winner gets published in the winter issue.

SHERIDAN ANDERSON MEMORIAL SHORT STORY CONTEST
Flyfishing & Tying Journal is pleased to announce the first annual Sheridan Anderson Memorial Short Story Contest. Sheridan Anderson (1936-1984), author of Curtis Creek Manifesto – one of the bestselling fly fishing books of all time – was a renowned writer, angler, humorist, and teacher who sought to de-orthodox fly fishing and make it understandable to the everyday angler. He also loved a good story.
CONTEST GUIDELINES
We invite entries of short fiction that deal significantly with fly fishing. Stories should not exceed 3,000 words, must be in English, typed double-spaced, and submitted without the author’s name. Please include a cover sheet with your name, contact information, and a brief bio. Entrants may not submit more than one story. There is no entry fee. Manuscripts will not be returned.
The deadline for entry is July 21, 2018. Winners will be announced in the Winter issue. The first place winner will receive a collection of flies from Fair Flies loaded into a Fly Fishing Collaborative leather fly wallet, a signed wood engraving by Paul Gentry, a copy of the Everyman’s Library fishing anthologies, and publication in the winter issue of Fly-fishing & Tying Journal. Second and third place winners may also be considered for publication.
