The Canal & River Trust – curators of the Caught by the River Thames Waterfront Stage – have just launched a brand new monthly podcast. Celebrating the work of the Trust, Waterfront will present experts, authors and musicians, and explore the stories and heritage surrounding our historic waterways.

In the first episode, Sony award-winning presenter David Bramwell spends an enlightening afternoon with Tristan Gooley (author of The Natural Navigator and How to Read Water) who teaches David how to “read” the nuances and mystery of water. More importantly, he reveals how to win at Pooh Sticks.

In future episodes, the podcast will also present live talks from some of the biggest names in nature writing and psychogeography. Melissa Harrison shares her deep knowledge and passion for the British countryside with seasonal stories from our rivers and canals, whilst Jules Hudson (host of BBC1’s Escape to the Country) explores his ‘eight wonders of the canal world’.
