When this event came to our attention last week, our interest was piqued and we thought we’d better share it…
Pioneer will be setting up camp at the Hackney Attic, upstairs at the Hackney Picturehouse, from Friday 25 September until 27 September. The result of a lifelong obsession with everything outdoors, the event will bring together the images, stories and legends of the sea, the sky, mountains, trees, surfing, swimming and much more.
Over one weekend, prepare to come on a journey into the wilds through films, ‘campfires’, slideshows, music, poetry and storytelling. There will be several camps with a number of themed events and films, some standalone films, and a festival within a festival on the Saturday night.
Tickets to each camp are £12 and standalone films are £8.
Highlights include films Dear & Yonder, The Conquest of Everest, Dogtown & Z Boys and Keeper of the Mountain; campfires with creative designer and director of The Museum of British Folklore, Simon Costin, authors Roger Mansfield and Amber Butchart; and music from The Nest Collective and The City Shanty Band.
