We’re going to be hearing a lot about Landmarks in the coming weeks. Robert Macfarlane’s follow up to his 2012 breakthrough book The Old Ways has been eagerly anticipated in all quarters as the UK press coverage this week has shown. The Guardian led on Saturday, giving Landmarks the front page of the review section and running an extract of the first chapter inside. The word-hoard: Robert Macfarlane on rewilding our language of landscape can be read on The Guardian website here.
We will be catching up and doing our bit later this week with an exclusive extract from this incredible book running on the site across Friday and Saturday. The fact that the subject of this chapter is (our patron saint) Roger Deakin makes this act of generosity even sweeter.
Ahead of the extract, our review will be up on Thursday and next month Robert will be reading as a guest of ours at a Caught by the River faber Social event in London. Tickets, if there are any left, are on sale here.
Landmarks is available from the Caught by the River shop, at the special price of £15
