The Taff takeover of Caught by the River continues with news of a three day event in London this week celebrating the written word and the music of the valleys and coastlines of Wales. Taking place at the legendary London Welsh Centre on Grays Inn Road (if you’ve not been, it’s a vision of Welsh utopia just five minutes stroll from Kings Cross), each night follows a different theme. On Thursday (3rd), there’s a tribute to the Senghenydd Mining Disaster of 1913; Friday (4th) a music and literature night and on Saturday (5th) a day of talks and readings under the banner of “From Wales, Bloomsbury and beyond”. Talking over the weekend will be Caught by the River contributors Richard King and Jude Rogers as well as a host of Welsh or Welsh acting names (including Bernard Kane, star of both of our Festival No 6 weekends). We’re hoping to put a little talk together as part of Saturday’s programme – details to follow in a day or two. In the meantime, click here for more info and ticket details on the events. The Welsh edition of An Antidote to Indifference is available in the shop now.
