Last night’s Faber Social event was fantastic. Ridiculously good even. We need to say some thank you’s. Firstly, to Lee and Mary at Faber for getting us involved. To the performers, Chris Yates, Kirsty Gunn, Jeet Thayil, Alice Oswald, Will Atkins and Rob Macfarlane. To our hosts at The Social and to everyone that came along. I know that the speakers loved it and we hope that you did too.
Coming up next week (sorry, it’s London once again, next year we promise to get out more) is the launch of Robert Macfarlane, Stanley Donwood and Dan Richards book, Holloway. This is going to be popular and as it isn’t ticketed we suggest you get there early. More info on that here.
After that it’s down to Cornwall for Port Eliot festival. Always fun and always a good place to meet our readers. Hope to see you there.
Before I go I would also like to thank the good folk at Literature Wales for inviting us to participate in the Dinefwr festival last weekend. It was my first time to that part of Wales and Robin, Andrew and I had a great time. Thanks to Matt Sewell, Richard King, Rob Penn, Dan Kieran, Neil Ansell, Jeb Loy Nichols, Tim Burgess and our very own RT for being so entertaining. If ever you find yourselves looking for somewhere to stay in that part of Carmarthenshire we suggest you give Katy Jenkins a call and book yourself a room at the Glenhires Estate, her lovely old farm and manor house offering up b & b and self catering. The guest rules state that ‘if you are partying please consider your neighbours and keep it down after 11pm. Or better still invite them in’. Good attitude.
